The challenge was to present Bacardi in a new way to the customer for the holiday without falling into the trap of “traditional holiday” imagery and pitfalls.

2. Result

My concept for the point of sale activation resulted in not only in-store sale points but digital and social media positioning as well. A commercial concept I developed alongside a live event holiday tour add-on to add support to the theme were key in expanding the concepts reach.

3. Experience

From brainstorm to personally handing the client facing presentation this was an educational and visually striking journey. Concept Development, Print, Point-of-Sale, Storyboarding, Online and more were used to bring this idea to life.

This project had some unique “?s” from the onset. Not only did the concept have to immediately read “holiday” it had to “not look holiday” at the same time. Given this challenge and my research first approach, an exploratory into themed drink at the time, the “Cuba Libre”, lead me to South America.
There I discovered some unique holiday traditions that utilized street fireworks whose coloration theme just so happened to be “red”. A color that reads holiday without much needed effort.
